The bed was as described. It looks nice put together and I was able to do it on my own, although would have been easier with help. Once we put the mattress on, the bed stands pretty tall. Almost need a stool to get into bed and I am 5'6". My husband modified one side and added a door so we could access under the bed. We use it for extra storage. The drawers under the bed are great! Big and easily slide.

was not made of hardwood entirely, as it was described in the description section, gaps show missing stained areas. it arrived with slight scratches, and there was particle board sections which is a terrible material for furniture. it has gaps in the "seams" which means the drawers dont line up. It was made in Malaysia not sante fe california as it was described. i tripped while building it and i actually put my hand through the top piece that is above the drawers.-cheap material in areas that you don't see. one of the drawers doesn't slide in properly. it is ok at best. if i would have known this i would have bought a different one. but it is nice and high and does have areas to route cords for alarm clocks. it has a nice color finish. it did assemble in a couple hours with no one elses help though.

Disappointed that this product is not all hardwood. Deceptive in not revealing that it consist of press wood also. Not a good purchase for high humidity locations or if it gets wet...It is great looking. I like the style. I think it should offer a recommendation on the type of foundation and mattress.I do like the fact that there was a break down in the cost of the shipping and the cost of the bed.
