There is no adhesive to adhere to the furniture or the floor as the rubber holds all furniture to the pad and the pad grips safely to the floor. I used these on our couches in the living room that are on hardwood floors. I had felt pad on them but they slid around too easily. I put these pads on and the couches don't move at all, they work great, and with no sticky pad, just put them under your items. They are very thick and I am glad I bought the smaller 2' ones so you can't see them once installed. I had tried some other ones that were useless, these are great.

I tried sticky pads on the very small feet of our sliding sofa to no effect. These glueless pads, however, are easier, neater and work beautifully.

Before purchasing this product our sectional sofa used to slide apart, making hanky panky in the living room impossible... or at least amusing for whoever didn't go down the crack! We'd tried two different kinds of furniture felt - which just ended up coming off the feet and leaving a gummy residue on our hardwood floors - as well as rubbery shelf liner, but to no avail.This product does exactly what it says it will. Since we put them under the feet of our sofa it hasn't moved even a smidge. Yay for safe and secure hanky panky! I like that they're not adhesive (no gummy residue, easy to reuse). Our sofa is reasonably heavy and the pads stay in place just fine.The product loses a star for price point. $36 to keep my sofa in place just feels a bit excessive.
