Can't beat the price for what you get.

FINALLY, a company that knows how to package something properly for shipping. It did have a 2 inch, shallow, semi circular ding on one of the stools. I'm guessing it was a manufacturing flaw because the packing it came in looked like it would fare well in a hurt locker, or at least thwart the damnedest efforts of the most brutally vengeful delivery dude. I HAD to mar the flawless table top with a belt buckle when I was moving it into place, can't help it no matter how careful I am, I always seem to scratch something brand new. No worries, a swipe with minwax stain 211 rendered table and stool scratches imperceptible to anyone who isn't hell bent on examining it like a lab geek on CSI. Couldn't ask for more, given the price. If it were 30-36 inches in the short run instead of 24 inches it would be better for two, but the bench makes it great for a single person because you can slide in without moving the bench to sit at the center of the table instead of feeling like a goof sitting at one end of the table when you're dining solo, but still have room for four when you have guests. It ain't gonna qualify for a future family heirloom, but it's a great piece for a small area. Seriously, for the price you could consider this disposable furniture, buy it to get you by in a pinch for 6 months or so, then buy something more expensive when you find the perfect scenario, and still have had a good deal. Or, you could just keep it as quality that rates somewhere between Ikea and World Market at a better price than either will offer. It's especially great for a single dude with a small place that decides they need an enjoyable area to eat besides the sofa, or over the sink, without breaking the bank. Even better, the table is the perfect height to stand and eat like happy hour in your own kitchen if you're prone to balk at completely civilizing yourself and occasionally feel the need to eat a Manwhich or an excellently greasy pizza standing up.

This pub table set is comfortable, casual and of good quality for the price. It's not especially big and fits great in my little nook. The height makes it feel larger than it is and, I feel, it adds some depth to the room. The table and bench tops are not plywood; whether they are in fact *real* wood or a good composite I'm not sure. But they have some weight to them and look exactly like the photos.PRICE: I searched practically everywhere for a table set priced between $200 and $300. For that price range I found lots of 2 person cafe tables and a few big, ugly, boring breakfast sets. This set proved the most unique 4-seater I could find.SELLER: As other reviewers have mentioned, the package arrived SO well wrapped it looked like it would have survived a nuclear explosion. All pieces were delivered in perfect condition. They were sent UPS, no-signature needed, 70 lb. package. At one point I did have a question for the seller and it was answered in under 24 hours. All in all a great experience.ASSEMBLY: I am a single, city woman who has never assembled anything! I struggled a little in the beginning but once I got the hang of it, it was really pretty easy. In addition to the tools that are included you will need a RUBBER MALLET (or hammer and a towel) to get all pieces to fit tightly. You'll also need a PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWDRIVER or electric drill. The directions are very easy to follow. A good buy!

While the package itself was a bit beaten up upon arrival, likely due to size/shape/weight, all components were fine. Assembly instructions were clear and assembly was easy, especially considering how sturdy the result is. Everything appears to be solid wood or butcher block - nothing appears to be laminate, which was a nice surprise given the price. I'm very happy with the result over all and highly recommend it.
