THIS STUFF MAKES MY WIFE HAPPY, ERGO IT MAKES MY LIFE EASIER

This is another of those products that we have used for so long that we take it more or less for granted as it is sort of a part of the natural order of things in our household. I use Pledge (Lemon scented) for two purposes. The first is wooden furniture, of which we have a lot, and I use it in the interior of our cars on the leather upholstery and such. I should say I use it on my wife's cars as she likes her vehicles to be clean and smelling nice at all times, whereas I could care less and give my truck a cleaning, inside and out, once ever two years or so whether it needs it or not.Anyway....There are two household chores that I thoroughly dislike. I hate with passion ironing. I am actually pretty good at it but I despise doing it. Nothing can or will ever make me like it. The other odious chore is dusting. Now keep in mind that as far as dust goes I am the kind of guy that could care less if the dust on things got so thick you would need a ten-penny nail to carve your initials in it. My wife on the other hand, is unreasonable when it comes to this and her feelings are the exact opposite...a speck of dust on a piece of furniture might as well be a railroad tie as far as she in concerned. It cannot be tolerated! Ergo, when it is my turn do to the dusting (which seems like is forever), it must be done to her standards...groan. Anything I can do to make this task more pleasing, faster and....well, perfect, I will use. Pledge helps me greatly in this area.I use this on all of our wooden furniture. Just before I sat down to do this review I took a quick and unscientific survey of our home and found that we had six different species of wood in our home and quite a number of wood-like objects. The finishing on these items differs wildly from hand-rubbed to pieces that have been spray painted by who knows who in places that I cannot even pronounce. Pledge, I am here to tell you, does the job on all of them. Of the dozens of products we have tried over the years, Pledge is the most consistent and we keep returning to it time and time again. Over the past 15 or 20 years we simply have given up on everything else as the other products simply do not compare.I do not use this stuff on glass as that is not what it was made for. (Vinegar and water do just fine...thank you very much). No, I use this stuff solely on wood.Pledge claims that it removes up to 84 percent of allergens in dust. I have no reason to doubt this. We live in the middle of the woods and the pollen here is horrendous. We are surrounded by oak trees and in the spring everything is completely covered with greenish/yellow pollen despite the fact that we have every high-tech filter known to man. Mmm...Lemons

I recently tried this through Bzzagent as well, and the minute I sprayed it, I remembered the smell from my childhood. I cleaned all of my kitchen cabinets with it and it worked great and smelled better. I only marked it down a star for 2 reasons.1.) It left a gummy residue on my wooden kitchen table, not any of my other furniture though. I had to scrub it again with a different cleanser and it still doesn't look quite right.2.) Be careful not to walk in sock feet on hard surfaces near where you just dusted, not a mistake I'll make twice.

This polish seems to work well on finished wood surfaces and doesn't really have any waxy buildup. On rougher wood surfaces, it still works and cleans, but isn't as effective as with smooth, finished surfaces. Overall, good product.
