S: NO GLUE OR NAILS! These non-slip furniture pads are like no other in that they are pure solid rubber on both sides and extremely dense! There is no adhesive to adhere to the furniture or the floor as the rubber holds all furniture to the pad and the pad grips safely to the floor. Made in the USA, these rubber furniture pads contain a unique texture within the rubber to allow more rubber to grip to more floor. Great solution for wandering furniture

I bought the 6" pads with the intent of cutting each one into 4, 3" squares. I needed 28 squares, which would be 4 orders of 3" squares at $20 each, or one order of 6" squares at $32. Seemed like pretty much a no brainer. But a fair warning - these aren't exactly the easiest thing to cut. They are 1/2" thick low density recycled felt (that is just my description, not a technical term). The fibers are not densely packed like traditional felt bumper pads (you can compress each pad by 50% by hand), so they tend to move about and tear out at the ends when cutting with a box cutter/X-Acto knife/razor blade. Heavy kitchen shears work with significant effort, but the blades need to be really sharp.As other reviewers have mentioned with various other sizes, Dura-Grips don't seem like anything magical at first appearance. The soft, lavender rubber layer on each side is fairly thin and seems like it would rip easily. But it doesn't, and these pads really do work. I'm using them under 3 different sets of furniture, from middle-weight chairs to full-size reclining sofas (think sleeper sofa for weight approximation) on both hardwood and ceramic tile floors. I have two rambunctious boys that run and jump on the furniture when they think I'm not looking, and nothing has moved an inch. This is the first solution, after many, many hardware store purchases (including self-proclaimed "Heavy Duty Non-Slip Furniture Grips") that has withstood the test of time. Best of all, there is no extra hardware or adhesives involved, making them easy to remove/replace for one-person furniture repositioning.With really light furniture, like a small ottoman, the pad won't compress as much and you might notice some movement. That is not the pad itself slipping, but rather the shifting of the fibers. I'm not sure why they went with 1/2" low density felt instead of 1/4" high density felt, but I haven't noticed any deformation or wearing from this very minor (we're talking like 1/4" - 3/8") shifting back and forth. This is a difficult phenomenon to explain if you don't already have the visual, but in an exaggerated sense, picture placing your hands on both sides of a pillow and then rubbing your hands back and forth in opposite directions. Even if your fingers stay in the same place on the fabric, the filling will allow for movement of your hands relative to each other.Because the pads are so thick, they offer a lot of shock absorption. I'm sure there are all types of uses for them, like placing under washing machines that wander during the spin cycle on uneven loads, or as a workbench cookie for routing and sanding. The fact that you can order larger pads and cut them to size makes them very versatile. The rubber surface is not overly resistant to abrasion (you can scratch off the texture with a fingernail), so that is something to keep in mind if you plan on any creative solutions.One thing worth mentioning is that I thoroughly mopped my floors before placing these pads, so I cannot speak to their effectiveness on dirty or dusty surfaces.
