Great bench, but..

I purchased this as a blanket chest to place at the footboard of my bed. I was so happy when I unpackaged this item that the wood was a perfect match with my bedroom furniture. I usually assemble everything at my house - but this one was a bit of a pain. At least 2 people should be assembling this. The only thing I would like to see improvement on about this chest are the safety hinges that it came with and its specifications to where you're supposed to place them. I tried three times - and each time my fiance and I tried to close the hatch, we heard the wood ripping. I didn't want to damage it anymore so I finally just took off the hinges. You can go on without it, but be very cautious when opening/closing the hatch as it is fairly heavy. Last thing you want is to jam your finger.

Great bench for the price

This bench was very easy to put together and looks great once completed. Also, The company is very focused on customer service and will do whatever it takes to make sure the customer is satisfied.

I put this at the foot of the bed for storing quilts and blankets. Great bench for putting on shoes in the morning.
